Condolences

Condolence From: Robert G. Langford (son of Doris Saunders and Gordon Langford)
Condolence: Regretfully, I just learned of Clara's passing and would like to express belated sympathies to her family on behalf of both the Langford and Saunders branches of my family. Clara was a personal friend of both of my parents who passed 1978 and 1980 going back many decades as well as my Aunt and Uncle Fran and Bruce Saunders. Several of Uncle Bruce's ship models were on exhibit at Harris' Seafood and "Saunders Coffee" on the menu was named in honor of my Uncle. The last night of my last visit to Nova Scotia in 1987 was spent at the Harris' Seafood with Uncle Bruce, Aunt Fran, and Clara. My sister, all my Canadian cousins, and my nieces and nephews both here in the US and in Canada all knew her from growing up with our parents. We will all miss her. May she rest in peace.

Condolence From: Aaron Churchill
Condolence: I am so terribly sad that I just found out that Clara Has passed. Living out here in Alberta the news of this didn’t reach me till now. Almost a year later. This also breaks my heart. I would have flown there to show my love to her and her family. When Clara and my grandpa Earl would travel the world together... Clara would always buy me a little something and bring it home to me and say it was from my grandmother. She has the most special place in my heart. She always made me feel loved. And I loved her. This world was a great place beacause of her in it. I know Clara lived a very full and wonderfully long life and touched a lot of people in a positive, loving and helpful way, I am just lucky enough to count myself as one of them.

Clara you are and always will be loved ❤️

Condolence From: Joanne Horton family
Condolence: Clara was a beautiful classy lady who meant a lot to our family. Her many accomplishments speak for themselves but only hint at how remarkable she was.

Her lifelong connection with our mom was important to us all. She hosted mom and dad’s 50th Anniversary at Harris’ Seafood restaurant and innumerable feasts there and at the Quick and Tasty! She was an equally gracious hostess at home, sharing her well honed culinary skills generously.

Her quick wit and great sense of humour was so enjoyable whenever we met socially - she was a great gal to spend time with. She will be sorely missed by us all.

Condolence: Dear Sally & Jim
So sorry to hear of your Mum's passing. She had a big impact on my life. Working with her and your Dad provided me with summer employment that put me through 4 years at Acadia. I have great memories of waitressing with you , Sally , and I believe Jim was bussing with us.
Your Mum was a great role model , a fun and caring woman running a business that employed students like me and people from the community. Remember Lila's chocolate chip cookies she made for us and her mile high lemon and date pies? I remember our "staff family" table in th corner where we shared our suppers. I wonder how many other restaurants did that?
I have her cookbooks and her lobster Newburg recipe is still the best
Thinking of you at this time
