Obituary for Claire Ann Muise

Claire Ann Muise – age 83, of Yarmouth, N.S. passed away peacefully on September 17, 2022, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Hadleyville, N.S. on October 13, 1938, she was a daughter to the late Joseph and Mary Alexandra (Chisolm) Carter. Claire retired from the Yarmouth Regional Hospital after 25 years and never missed a single day of work. She loved to cook, go camping, and most of all she loved her family. She was a lover of country music and loved to put on her dancing shoes and go dancing at the legion. In her younger years, she enjoyed going for summer visits back to the homestead in Hadleyville with her children. Claire had a fondness for animals, especially her beloved pussycat Penny. She was also a devoted member of St Ambrose Co-Cathedral. Claire is survived by her common-law spouse, Ray Hogg; children, John (Kim) Muise, Patty (Sandy) Grant, Ruth Muise, Robert Muise; step-children; Anne (Jim) Callanan, Patti (Gillian) Hogg, Carolyn (Jason) Coulombe, Barb Grant; siblings, Betty (Stan) Stadel, Ruth Anderson, Robert (Donna) Carter, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents Claire was predeceased by her siblings, Irene Brown, Dave and Joe Carter; and her great-grandson, Mason Grant. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022, from 7-9 P.M. with Prayers at 7:30 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will take place Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 10 A.M. from St Ambrose Co-Cathedral with Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Following the service, a time of fellowship will take place in the St Ambrose Jubilee Room. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
